On June 8th, 2022, an industry first took place - the launch of Sustainable Irish Retail Action (SIRA) and the SIRA e-Guide publication at a packed event hosted by Retail Excellence and held in Fallon & Byrne Dublin.
SIRA is an initiative that set out to create a practical sustainability support framework for the retail community. The brainchild of Sharon Yourell Lawlor of Think Plan Do Consulting and Claire Cogan of Behaviourwise, partnered by TapCreative and co-sponsored by Vodafone, SuperValu and AIB plus supported by Champion Green and Retail Excellence.
The brand identity and naming of SIRA were created by our brand team at TapCreative. We designed the easy-to-navigate interactive SIRA e-Guide, complete with live links to practical supports as well as over 20 case studies to tap into. Our team contributed to key content within the document, pulling on our experience in design, build and retrofit within the retail industry.
The purpose of SIRA is to upweight the standards around sustainability understanding and practice within the Irish retail industry; empowering and enabling SMEs to include more sustainable solutions in their businesses by providing access to education, tools, and support in a user-friendly way.
The event opening address by Mark Mellett, founder of Green Compass and former Chief of Staff at the Defence Forces, centered on the impact of climate change. Hitting home the real and urgent need for sustainable thinking and practices.
Attending the launch, Gemma Ni Maoltuile, Business Development Director commented:
Supporting Irish retailers on their sustainability journey is truly close to our hearts. With TapCreative’s background in retail design, and read and focus on design for sustainability partnering and playing a key role in SIRA made sense. The e-Guide will contribute significantly to delivering comprehensive and practical information on sustainable solutions in an accessible way for businesses to implement.”
SIRA is one of our ‘Design For Good’ projects, where we use our creativity and design thinking as giving back to make a difference.
At TapCreative we design brand experiences that challenge convention, disrupt categories, and drive brand growth, enabling you to connect with your customer in more meaningful ways.
