Aviation mixed with foodie appeal

As part of an extensive refurbishment of their ground floor, Carlton Hotel at Dublin Airport engaged TapCreative to reinvigorate their hospitality space to a new restaurant, bar and café experience, establishing it as a go-to destination for great food and drink.

Core to the success of the identities we created for each of these offers was the creation of a consistent visual theme - and due to its proximity to the airport - focused on aviation. This core theme allowed us to explore a distinctive character for each offer whilst subliminally linking them together for the customer, creating meaningful depth.

Working simultaneously on each, we designed the Mayfly for the more upmarket restaurant, Kittyhawks for the casual bar, and Wild Hare as their own brand coffee that would rival the appeal of more ‘urban’ café independents. Each brand is united through a minimalist design aesthetic, whilst remain proudly distinct through colour and tone of voice that matches the relevant food and drink accordingly.
